  I had a beautiful, long haired blonde cat named Bubba Junior. There never was a Bubba Sr. I also had another blonde cat named Booger. Her name eventually morphed into Miss Booger, Queen of the Universe.

  my best man at my wedding, twenty years ago, was someone i always trusted.

  he was a friend for fishing, a friend who remained when i left the religion with my wife 15 years ago and although he was a bit issolated.

  I hope she's gotten therapy on her own, and I'm glad to hear that she's free of the borg. The whole story is just so surreal - hard to believe people can act that way.

  at the last elders school i heard from a few different attendees that the average age was easily 60+.

  there will be a lot of elders gone within the next 10yrs.

  there is nowhere near enough young brothers to replace these ageing elders.

  I wonder how many dubs will stop attending when small town congregations are merged. If the hall in my town were to merge, the next closest hall is 30 miles away. I can see a lot of drop off in meeting attendance for the elderly dubs in bad weather and for the night meetings. There are only 4 elders at the local hall, and only one MS who is younger than the elders.

  i have had to make some very difficult decisions in recent days.

  in one way i feel good about takeing care of myself and my mother who is on her dead bed in the room next to me.

  mom has live with me since 2005 and started to make her journey to the other side on christmas day.

  this particular article was discussed or touched on a couple months ago regarding the wt society's statement concerning jw's putting " jehovah above everything else- including the family bond " .

  so i won't address those points in this thread, but there are many other points to address where the wt society uses guilt and black & white cult reasoning to control jw's minds with this information from the article titled, " let nothing distance you from jehovah ".

  first off in paragraph 5 the wt tries to make people feel guilty looking for work and insists that if you get any job that takes you away from family- it will distance you from jehovah !

  I was always a bit annoyed by the constant harping on the need to be in service every single Saturday morning and after meeting on Sunday. They literally didn't want me to have a single day to myself. I'm not a morning person at all, and the ability to sleep in and not have to get moving and out of the house at least one day a week is vital to my mood and mental well being. Now that I don't attend meetings at all, I get two days per week to do as I please. Sometimes I get up and go places, sometimes I spend the whole weekend in pajamas hanging out with Just Ron

  I'm sorry you are facing difficult times. No matter the circumstances, death of a loved one is painful. I am glad to hear that you are drawing healthy boundaries. There is no reason to allow people to trample all over you. ((hugs))

  unproductive kingdom proclaimers won't leave my kingdom hall, how do i rid our hall of these vultures or turkeys?.

  after visiting your site, i decided to allow one of the spiritual weak individuals into my car group, it was not easy but you have made valid points i find very self condemning.

  Our congregation moved the sunday meeting time from 9:30am to 10am, which made my life a little easier. It was hard getting three kids up and ready for meeting, and we didn't have to do that any other day since we homeschooled. The evening meetings started at 7:30pm because there were a few people who had long commutes. There were many nights I didn't get home until 6:15 or 6:30, and still had a 20 minute drive to the hall. We wouldn't get home until 10pm. I was always so tired. But now, when I take the kids to scouts, the meeting starts at 6:30 and I'm home by 9. On nights when I don't get home on time, Just Ron takes them or one of the other leaders will pick them up and nobody gives us crap about not being there ourselves. So much better, and more fun
